Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2024 | Last Updated: January 1, 2024
HoodServe ("HoodServe," "we," "us," or "our") operates the platform available at hoodserve.com (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Platform. Please read it carefully.
1. Who We Are
HoodServe is a subscription-based SaaS platform that provides independent service businesses — cleaning companies, lawn care providers, handyman services, salons, and similar trades — with tools to manage bookings, teams, invoices, client relationships, and their own branded websites.
Our business model is straightforward: businesses pay us a monthly or annual subscription fee. We do not sell your personal information. We do not monetize user data. Our blog may contain affiliate links and Google AdSense ads, both of which are disclosed clearly and covered in detail in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account registration: name, email address, phone number, business name, and address when you sign up for a HoodServe subscription.
- Service bookings & estimates: if you submit a booking or estimate request through a HoodServe-powered business website, we collect your name, contact information, and service preferences on behalf of that business.
- Payment information: billing address only. Payment card data is processed directly by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified) and is never stored on our servers.
- Support communications: messages, support tickets, and feedback you send us.
- Job applications: if you apply through a HoodServe-powered careers page, we collect the information you submit (name, contact details, screening question answers).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps.
- Device data: device type and browser version.
- Location data: approximate location from your IP address only. We never request or collect precise GPS location.
- Cookies & similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy for full details.
- Usage data: features used, pages visited, and interactions with the Platform — used to improve the product.
- Affiliate click data: if you click an affiliate link on our blog, the affiliate network (Amazon, CJ Affiliate, Impact, Admitad, etc.) records the click via a tracking cookie on your browser. HoodServe only receives aggregate confirmation that a referral occurred — we do not receive your personal information from affiliate networks.
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not offer social login (Google, Facebook, Apple, etc.). All accounts require an email and password, protected by Cloudflare Turnstile.
- We do not collect sensitive personal information such as government IDs, financial account numbers, health data, or biometric data.
- We do not purchase data from third-party data brokers.
- We do not show ads or affiliate links inside the subscriber app dashboard — only on public blog pages.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve HoodServe:
- Create, maintain, and secure your account.
- Process subscription payments and send receipts.
- Facilitate bookings, estimates, and client communications for businesses using the Platform.
- Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, booking notifications, invoices).
- Send product update emails to subscribers (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Improve, debug, and develop new features on the Platform.
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Respond to support requests.
- Display relevant blog content and, where applicable, affiliate recommendations and advertisements on public blog pages.
We do not use your personal data to build advertising profiles or sell leads.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With the service business you interact with: if you submit a booking or estimate through a HoodServe-powered website, the subscribing business receives your submission and is responsible for its handling.
- With our service providers: cloud hosting, payment processing (Stripe), transactional email, and analytics (Google Analytics). Each vendor is bound by a data processing agreement.
- With affiliate networks: when you click an affiliate link on our blog, your browser communicates with the affiliate network's servers (Amazon, CJ Affiliate, Impact, Admitad, etc.) which set a tracking cookie. HoodServe does not transmit your personal data to these networks — the communication is directly between your browser and the network. See Section 5 for details.
- With Google (AdSense): when AdSense ads are shown on blog pages and you have consented to advertising cookies, Google may use your browsing data to serve relevant ads per its own privacy policy.
- For legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HoodServe, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer: if HoodServe is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent: for any other purpose only with your explicit agreement.
5. Affiliate Links & Tracking
Our blog may contain affiliate links — links to third-party products or services for which HoodServe may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase. This comes at no extra cost to you.
How affiliate tracking works
When you click an affiliate link, your browser is redirected through the affiliate network's servers, which set a tracking cookie identifying that you arrived from HoodServe. If you make a qualifying purchase within the cookie's validity window (typically 24 hours for Amazon, up to 90 days for other networks), HoodServe receives a referral commission. We do not receive your name, email, or payment details from affiliate networks — only that a conversion occurred.
Affiliate networks we use
- Amazon Associates — HoodServe is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon Privacy Notice →
- CJ Affiliate — CJ Privacy Policy →
- Impact — Impact Privacy Policy →
- Admitad — Admitad Privacy Policy →
Every blog post containing affiliate links includes a clear disclosure notice at the top of the post. You can read our full Affiliate Disclosure for more details. You can avoid affiliate tracking cookies entirely by not clicking affiliate links or by opting out of advertising/affiliate cookies in our cookie banner.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and Google Analytics to understand how the Platform is used. On public blog pages only, we also use Google AdSense (advertising cookies) and affiliate network tracking cookies. No advertising or affiliate tracking cookies are used inside the subscriber app dashboard. For full details and opt-out controls, see our Cookie Policy.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
